In Year Admissions
Thank you for your interest in transferring your child to Crondall Primary School. Here is all the essential information for making an In-Year application:
What is In-Year Admission?
- In-Year applications are for children who need to join the school outside of the normal admission rounds (e.g., during the academic year).
- Crondall Primary School is an Academy, and the Weydon Multi Academy Trust is the Admissions Authority, responsible for setting admission arrangements, maintaining waiting lists, and allocating school places.
How to Apply
- For Hampshire residents: Applications can be made directly to Hampshire Admissions.
- For non-Hampshire residents: Contact us directly for further guidance.

Eligibility to Apply
You can apply for In-Year Admission if:
- You are moving house and your child cannot continue at their current school.
- Your child is being educated at home, and you want them to attend a mainstream school.
- Your child is already attending another school but you wish to transfer them.
Application Timeline
- Applications can be made up to 4 weeks before the place is needed.
- For Armed Services/Crown Servants relocating: Apply up to 4 months in advance of your move.
- If you want your child to start from the beginning of the autumn term, you can apply from July.
How to Apply

- Paper Application: If you need a paper form, contact Hampshire Admissions at 0300 555 1377 or admissions.team@hants.gov.uk.
The application should be made by the person with parental responsibility for the child. If you’re unsure of your status, include a covering letter explaining your situation.

- Any supporting documents (e.g., professional evidence for exceptional/medical/social claims, change of address, or proof of arrival in the UK).
Processing Your Application
- Applications are processed within 15 school days of receiving your completed form.
- You must respond to any offer of a place within 2 weeks. The offer will include instructions on how to accept or decline the place.
- If you fail to accept the offer on time, the place may be withdrawn.
Starting at Crondall Primary
- If an offer is accepted, we will arrange for your child to start within 10 school days of your acceptance, or at the earliest possible date.
- If you need to defer, the maximum deferral period is typically until the start of the next half term.
Waiting List
- If we cannot offer your child a place, we will explain why and add your child’s name to our waiting list.
- The waiting list is ranked according to the school’s admission policy. Your child’s position on the list may change as other children with greater priority are added.
- Waiting lists are disbanded at the end of each academic year. If you wish to be considered for the next academic year, a fresh application must be made.
