Starting school Reception September 2026

Starting school is a big milestone, and we are here to make the transition as smooth and positive as possible for both you and your child. Here is what to expect as your child begins their journey at Crondall Primary School.

After places are allocated, you will receive an email with key information about induction events and next steps.

During the Summer Term

Rainbow Class Rendezvous (parents and children) – 11th June 2026

• Meet your child’s class teacher, teaching assistant, and members of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Connect with other families.
• Explore the Reception classroom and learning environment.
• Browse second-hand uniforms available for purchase.

Stay-and-Play Sessions (children only) – 2nd and 3rd July 2026

• Your child will attend two sessions to meet their classmates and get comfortable in the classroom setting.

Nursery Liaison

• We work closely with local nurseries to learn about each child’s needs and ensure a smooth transition.

The Autumn Term

• We will arrange short video calls between the 2nd and 4th September to introduce ourselves, answer any questions, and help your child feel more at ease.

• Monday 7th September and Tuesday 8th September - half day in school for children, time TBC depending on House.
• Wednesday 9th September - all children in school until 11:45
• Wednesday 9th September - parent meeting at 11:00 to 11:30
• Thursday 10th September - 08:40 until 15:10 children's first full day in school
